DMT 8 VL Problems

DMT 8VL......

Has anyone had any problems with multitracker???

I've had trouble with mine sort of glitching on playback of my recorded tracks. One track is o.k.,it's when I add others I have trouble. Just curious. Later. Lance
 
I have 3 hardrives I switch back and forth. One of those drives started glitching on me like you say and cutting out in spots. I went to my other hardrives and have never had another problem. I'm afraid to say your hd may be the culprit. Have you tried copying and moving a song to another spot on the disc? Does that clear up the glitches at all? Are they exclusive to only certain tracks? HD's are pretty cheap right now and you can find a good hardly used 4 gig for a bit of nothing. Slap in a new drive and chances are, (providing it's a good drive) there will be no more glitches.
 
Here is another problem maybe someone could help me with. A friend of mine just bought one of these and it will only record for about a second and then stop. Any suggestions as to why this happens?

Hey Thunder,
I have the same problem when I hit play & record without any sound sources connected to the DMT-8vl. Once I plug something into it, the unit works fine. That might be some kind of safety feature or just a quirk of the operating system.

I have had mine do some unusal things twice, once when I first got the multitracker and once when I installed a larger hard drive. All I did was save what was on the hard drive and reformat it.
