hi all, im a new user and have some questions about the dm 4800 cause im a bit lost in some parts

firstly would like to know ur opinion about my setup with the daw

So, i have 32 i/o with my FW card,

on the input screen of the desk i have

ch 1-24 M/L 1-24
ch 25-56 SLOT 1-32
ch 57-58 inside effect 1
ch 59-60 inside effect 2
ch 61-63 (empty)
ch 64 return from the preamp

in the output slot on the desk i have
slot 1-24 - M/L 1-24
slot 25-29 buss 1-5
slot 30 is the return from the preamp
slot 31-32 stereo out

in cubase i have set 16 stereo input and 16 stereo output

now i have a question about my preamp (avalon 737 sp)
i connected it to assignable send/ret
in cubase i just open a mono track and in the input routing i select stereo 15 (right) Slot track 30 and ready to record.
The problem is now how can i use the compresssor and eq on a prerecorded track?
I just cant find a way to get signal in the preamp from the daw .

90 views and no response?
pls i really need ur help, i know its a simple routing answer..

You probably haven't gotten any responses because this is a fairly unique way to use your Avalon, but you can send whatever track you want to use it on back to the DM4800 on a separate output buss (other than the stereo mix out), then assign the Avalon as an insert on that DM4800 chan. Then buss that chan back to an input in Cubase. Turn off the the stereo out of that return channel on the DM4800 and monitor the input in Cubase to hear the Avalon changes real time.
Personally, I use the Avalon 737 on the front end of recording. Keeps it simple.
