does anyone have any links for sites that teach how to make your own studio furniture,absorbers, bass traps, etc?

how do these compare to buying auralex or something along those lines

Ethan's plans for homemade Low Mid and High frequency bass traps work great if you're handy with a saw and screw gun.

From a cost point of view beats anything at Auralex hands down - and from an operations point of view - it will (at the very least) match anything with (uggg..... i hate to say the word) foam as well...........

His recording studio construction manual is kind of a "bible" to us homerecording DIYers, and there is a ton of advice and other interesting stuff to be found in his forums.

As far as comparisons to Auralex and other foam products goes, the normal consensus is that the home built stuff, done correctly, will cost way less than the equivalent amount of foam and be twice as effective.
