Hey folks, I'm new to the site and still pretty new to home recording itself. I'm posting here because I'm in a bit of a pickle.

I play death metal in the style of Dying fetus, Cannibal Corpse, Nile etc. and I'm in the market for a new source of distortion. I'm thinking in the range of 100-200 dollars. Nothin too fancy but something affordable that sounds good, not too digital and that i can get several options out of. That may be asking too much of something in that price range but there's gotta be something right?
I've been looking at some Line 6 gear (floor pod and pocket pod), The Metal Muff, Zoom G2.1Nu and the Fullbore (mxr i think makes it).

Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

The Boss "Heavy Metal" sounds heavy and growling, like a truck, used by many pro bands (I hate all other Boss distortions).

You can also go for the Ibanez Tube Screamer, Celtic Frost used those, but it's a bit more thrashy, like a chainsaw. Though the Tube Screamer has been reinvented many times, the new ones don't sound like the old ones.

Keep in mind that the better your guitar and amp are, the better the pedal will sound.

I'd go with the "Heavy Metal".
