I am wondering if Acid can be used in the following way:

I have a song that I previously recorded and it is now a wave file. I have put it into acid. The question I have is this:

Is it possible to get acid loops to "mesh" with my song. In other words, how do i get acid loops to play in sync with my song and in the same key?

Thank you

You use the beat mapper to define measure boundaries. That defines the tempo for any slice you pull out of it.

Basically the only way two songs will play "in sync" is if they are playing at the same tempo (or some even multiple of same).
So you may have to speed one up or slow the other one down so that the beats fall into the same measure boundaries. Sound Forge has a time stretch function to allow you to do this and keep the song in the same key. Sounds somewhat shitty outside of a small adjustment though... :(

Of course- all of this time stretch noise may be unnecessary once you've beat mapped the main track as any other clips dropped into the project are automatically adjusted to the project tempo. It's up to you to decide what clips sound appropriate when matched to the project tempo. The samples that SF provided to play with each tell you what they think the right tempo for that clip is and what the root note is.

As to the key there is a function you can apply to a clip on a track that applies a pitch shift. Right click the clip and select pitch shift; then select up or down a semitone. Rinse and repeat as needed.
