Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - featuring RAMI on vocals!

Thanks guys. I think Rami did a fine job. Excellent job. No one sounds like Bon, but Rami has a similar enough tonal quality that he was the one and only guy I thought of to ask to sing this.

Hehe...Thanx Greg. I don't know how close I am to Bon. One thing, though, Brian Johnson has a raspy/dirty voice. Bon didn't. As much as I like his voice better than Johnson's, I don't think I could ever sound like Johnson.

I think your voice is similar to Bon's, but without the raunch, which is okay to me. You have that higher kind of range to your voice. It's good.

Brian Johnson's voice is almost cartoonish with it's rasp and grit. He even kind of talks that way. I guess 900 years of smoking will do that to a guy.

Wow, the guitars sound awesome! I'm not very familiar with the original, so can't compare, but you can hear the power tubes throbbing - really nice. Rami's performance is great as ever - as I've said in one of his threads, I've noticed how much more consistent his delivery is now - I wish I had his range!

I finally got round to some tracking for those drums you sent me, Greg. I could do with some of that guitar tone you've got going on! My little amps sound great, but they don't throb like the tone you've got here.

Greg's guitars actually sound better and more ballsy than the original.

As far as my voice goes, I'm no Bon admittedly. But if I tried singing this a year ago, I would have never even come close. Stopping smoking has really helped my voice a lot. I have to re-do a bunch of my own songs as soon as I recover the hard drive from my old computer.

Everything sounds awesome except for the vocal reverb it's a little too far to my ear.

Really appreciated the job you did there and im a big fan of AC/DC!

I don't know what you mean. I've been posting from my phone. It's annoying to type too much but I don't want anyone to think they're being ignored.

I pity Rami for getting dragged into this one, but he did a very good job.

Production is impeccable.

Sadly you really only brought any personal flavor at the very end (forgive me if I'm wrong, been a decade since I heard this song at all). I kinda wish people with such skill added something uniquely theirs to covers. Otherwise, I usually prefer to just spin the original. But hey I got to bang my head to a track I hadn't heard in a long time. My $0.02

You taking requests? She Shook Me All Night Long??? :D

Yeah, I'm not getting it either.

It was myself assuming Greg might have seen Vigo's post of 'Mix This' song 'Waiting For Superman' in which Pinky stated 'Did you apply reverb to the entire track? 'WTF? smiley'. Then the next day Vigo posted a comment about a Greg/Rami tune and reverb. Just thought Greg was being nice and I made a simple comment. I suppose I just assumed everyone reads every thread that I do. lol

I have never heard anyone ever make a comment of overuse of reverb by either Greg or Rami. I thought it funny. Oops for the confusion. :D

Wow! OK, no I didn't see any of that. :)

Yeah, if there's one thing I've never been accused of, it's too much reverb on anything I do. Greg either. If anything, I've been told my mixes are dry as a nun's punani.

Thanks for the listen. No, I/we didn't do much to change it up. Most of my cover songs are pretty irreverent to the original. I butcher stuff all the time with my own spin. But sometimes, every now and then, a song just can't be made any better and the best you can hope for is to pay respectful tribute to the original version. That's how I feel about this one. I can't make an AC/DC song any better than it already is, so the best I can try to do is at least not fuck it up. This just started out as some drum and guitar test tracks anyway.

No. Not a chance.

Lol. I didn't know all of that back story. I don't know who or what the fuck Vigo is. Like Rami said, I can't think of one time I've been accused of using too much reverb. If that's how he hears it, that's fine. I did actually use more reverb on this than I usually do on anything else. Not on the vocals though. They got a little delay and an insignificant amount of reverb.

I can't believe how good those guitars sound. Killer! Vocals are powerful. I'm new to the forum and just getting my feet wet with home recording, but I know this sounds great. Not really adding anything other than I'm digging the whole thing. Great job guys.
