Hello all,

What is Directx used for? and if I do not have it on my computer, can I still run audio programs?

Read that or do a google search. I'm not sure about other software but cakewalk stuff comes with a directx installer.

I'm not sure which programs require directx (besides cakewalk) , but you can download the latest directx update from microsoft if you need it.
