Direct in acoustic guitar tone...

Oh, but you should! ;) It's really for those asking 'how do I record my acoustic guitar?' newbie questions. I use one mic pointing towards the 12th fret, another at the lower bout, both 6-9" away. Seem to get the crispness of the strings and the 'wood' of the body that way.

I've also have done a 12th fret mic and then one, from the bridge side (like to the side, that actual works well and lessens the pick sound). The another with a boom mic over my shoulder (all of these for the sound hole capture) and the mic just forward of the strings (the sound was OK).

I pretty much use the 12th fret and then "other".

I read it and I HAVE read a lot of other people's opinions on how to get the best sound. When I answered the thread question I gave my opinion on the subject. What I described is the way I get the best sound, compared to every other way I have tried.
