Need a favor. Can anyone tell me the exact outer dimensions of the plastic tape box 3M and Quantegy used for 2" tape on 10-1/2" reels. It's been a while since I've seen one in person. Better yet if you could also tell me how high two of them are stacked together... something like 5 or 6 inches? I'm trying to figure out if two of them will fit in a USPS Large Flat Rate box, 12" x 12" x 5-1/2"

Thanks!

Photo attached so you know what I'm talking about:

I could have told you the exact measurements last night....but I'm not at my studio right now.

I do know that two should fit, as I've gotten them mailed to me like that, two per box....but there are a number of USPS flat-rate box sizes, and I don't know the exact one used.

Yeah.. 12"x12"x5.5" is a good bet for two...with maybe a piece of bubble wrap around them.

If no one gives you exact measurements by the end of the day, I can provide them tonight.

So you're going 2" now? :)

Two side-by-side = 6 & 1/8"
HxW = 11" x 11"

If they are in the older cardboard boxes, they are a pinch wider than the plastic cases.

Thanks Miro! I thought you would probably be able to get that info. No, not doing 2" anytime soon. I needed the info for a friend who was trying to find the best way to ship theses two heavy reels. Looks like the USPS large flat rate box will do it, but barely because of the height. I remember a few years ago USPS changed the dimensions of that box. As I remember it was 6" high and they changed it to 5.5" high. Gotta love government organizations. :spank:

So anyway, looks like it will work, but the box will be puffy.

Oh...I don't know why I said the boxes are wider....I meant the plastic cases are a pinch wider than the older cardboard boxes.

So like two boxes side-by-side would be about 5 & 3/4" while the cases are 6 & 1/8".
