GC has a deal with three of these mics for $50, i might just have to go pick them up. i was thinking backup tom/ cab mics? has anybody given these wonderfully cheap mics a try?

I would avoid them and pick up a lot of random EVs or old nameless Shures on ebay for the same price. Really cheap mics sound pretty rough, and usually not in a "oh it overdrives everything and sounds neat" sorta way, more of a "I don't remember pacing these mics in empty toilets"sorta ways.
