I have a very simple question. I'm just about to but a Gadget Labs 8/24 and I want to know if I buy the Toslink connection option,is that the same kind of connection that my mindisc recorder has? The minidisc has an 8th inch input that can accept digital signals.

Toslink is a type of plug (some sort of square thing) that is attached to a fibreoptic cable for digital connections.

I'm assuming here that you've got a portable mindisk (the bigger ones generally on have Toslink, and the portable ones like the Sony MR-Z55 have a combined 3.5mm (1/8") line in which is both analog and digital)

Basically, you can connect a component that has a Toslink socket to one that has a 3.5mm minijack socket - just use the right cable.

A picture of what I'm talking about can be found at http://www.core-sound.com/toslink-cables.html (the picture on the right is a toslink to minijack cable)

Hope this helps.
