Hi,

I've got a DIGI9652 Hammerfall card in my mac. I was wondering if there's a 'box of tricks' which will connect to this card (via optical fibre) and allow me to both plug in my studio monitor speakers, and act as an audio interface? I used to use a Yamaha AW4416 digital workdesk to do this job but this has now been removed so I'm stuck for hearing my Reason tracks through quality speakers (as opposed to rubbish computer speakers!).
Maybe if there isn't some hardware to do both these tasks, is there something which will just allow my to connect my speakers?

Many thanks!

Chris

There a lot of options . . Behri ADA8000, Alesis AI3 are two . . . I use two of the Alesis boxes with my RME card, although it's getting dated, I wish Alesis would update the converters . . .

On the preamp only side, there's M-Audio Octane and Presonus Digimax LT.

There are more I'm not thinking of right now . . . shop around.

Thanks for the info, I'm gonna go check them out!

Cheers!

Chris

Do you need an interface that has preamps and converters, or just the converters? If all you need is converters, you could pick up a used Alesis HD24 or HD24XR and have 24 channels of ADAT I/O, and have an excellent standalone recorder to boot.
