Digi 002 Rack - Not Playing Instruments

I know a few of you hate on Digi, but I got this rack as a loaner from a friend of mine.

I'm using a Hackintosh (that runs wonderfully, BTW.) with Pro Tools 8. I originally had a Mbox 2 Mini, which came with PTLE8.


Now, the issue isn't with the computer, I don't think. Because as long as my Mbox has power, it will play Instruments / Mic out of the monitors / headphones.

I plugged my Vinyl player into the "Alternate Input Source" on the back, and it plays through that. But whenever I plug in a guitar or a mic into any of the 4 balanced lines, nothing comes out. I messed with the gain knobs and all the buttons on the front, and I'm just left scratching my head. Is anyone familiar with a problem like this?

are you talking about the digi 003 here?

if you're pluggin a guitar or mic into the trs/jack socket, you have to let the unit know by pressing the mic/di button for that channel, which is below the gain knob.

Hope it's as simple as that!

No, not the 003, the 002. And I'm aware of that. There's 2 buttons for slope and Mic / Line, and I've tried it with every possible variation of on / off for each of the two buttons with no results.

My 002 wont make any sound until I arm it for record. It isn't like the Mbox. Have you tried to arm the track?
