Can anyone who knows this recorder or other Roland recorders tell me why i'm losing the effects in all channels while entering the "Mastering Room"?
To be more specific, I'm using effect processor number 2 so the processor number 1 will stay available for the Mastering tool kit. Still, at the moment i'm activating the Mastering room all the signals lose their effects.

The mastering tool kits are all stereo and take 2 effect spaces. If you have the expansion board you can use the MTK in space 3. If not, record your mix down to the 2 tracks then master down again with the MTK.

Are you using effects on the track or adding them after, if you are adding them after go into your tracks and to effects and make sure you have the correct path checked for mastering, i dont remember all of the paths but its the one with the line loop over and loop under, I used a 2480cd forever and sadly enuf it has taken the back seat and its up for sale. :( poor thing needs a home.

Btw it has 4 effects chips all digital upgrades for monitor and mouse control, and external CD-RACK, If your intrested.

Louddog: Would you please clarify the number of FX? Am I to understand you can use (without expansion board) two FX at once, each in stereo? After you mix all tracks down to two, can you use only two mastering tools, each of them stereo? Thanks.

Yup. This is the answer. The MTK takes up both effect 1 and effect 2 (or effect 3 and effect 4 etc). If you are running MTK, it occupies your entire effects board. No way arround it. Either buy a second effects board or use the mastering room twice (once with effects and no MTK, and then again on the stereo track you just made with MTK).

Mtk

So, when I'm using the MTK, am I able to use several tools at once, or do I have to choose 1 or 2? For example, can I use compressor, limiter and sonic maximizer at the same time (all in stereo)? Thanks.

Yes, when using MTK you can use as many or as few of the MTK tools as you like at the same time.
