Ok,
So today, I got a proposal for a voice acting job. This is what the potential client said:
"Hello, my name is __________ and I am the senior producer for an American anime dubbing company known as "Ninja Run Productions". We are currently in the process of doing an American Dub of an anime known as "Kodomo No Jikan", and we are hoping to get it professionally released in the US. I am in desperate need of a voice actor, for the role of "Aoki Daisuke", and I have heard your demo reel, which I was very impressed by. Please contact me ASAP at ________________@yahoo.com if you are interested. Here is a link to an episode of the show:

I hope to hear from you soon!"
Obviously the post was made on April fools so I sent him:
"Yeah nice April Fools joke...."
He replied:
"not at all. if you want proof, here's the script. and almost all of the voice actors are from Newgrounds"
After checking the scripit, it seemed like he was serious...so this is what I wrote him:
"Hmm,
I will say that I am interested, but I will also say that I'm a bit skeptical.
Exactly how do you plan to get this project licensed in the U.S.? Are your intentions with this project profitable? If so, how are you exactly handling release forms or work for hire contracts for talent if at all? You said you're an established American dubbing company but where is your company website? How about recording? How do you plan to work out recordings so that the project sounds seamless and natural rather than just like another fan based radio play? How are you working out deliveries with your talent; have you devised an appropriate strategy for aquiring your uncompressed audio files? Normally I would think a company like this would have some kind of FTP Server to avoid the attachment limitations that typical E-mail provides. I also find it odd that an American dubbing company with intentions of releasing the final product as a commercial based project is resulting in using mostly non-union actors especially for this kind of work, especially outsourced to a rather dynamic community such as Newgrounds rather than a community like Voice123 or Voices where the talent is more static, centric, and "legal". In addition, what kind of company really wants to run the risk of additional paperwork in getting release forms from parents for hiring a minor (not me, just that's the general demographic in a community like Newgrounds) if they dont have to?
I'm sorry to be super inquisitive about this but I need something strait about the project before I can consider it. Is this really a legitimite company project or is this just a fan based endeavor with the descise of a professional project with hopes of acquiring tallent through deception?"
Was I right?
