Did I get an old version?

Does anyone know when SE3 (or i guess SX3 or SL3 too) came out? I use SE that I bought right after christmas at GC, and I was looking at the Steinberg site and saw SE3 was out. I guess it isn't really a big deal, but I figure I could go ask for the newer version if it was out when I bought SE (Mine says 1.07 on the CD). Thanks

Yep... I made the same mistake. I bought SE a month before SE3 came out... You can pay to upgrade, but you'd need to buy a dongle as well cuz SE3 needs one now... sucks, eh?

I hope you got a great deal on it because I've seen soon-to-be old versions of SL/SX go for really cheap when the new version is coming out shortly.
 
I would reccomend that you call Steinberg. A lot of companies will either give you the upgrade, or at least a great deal on it if you can verify with a receipt that you bought it close enough to the release date.

edit: so i called and the girl is having someone call me back, she was extremely nice....but anyways, does anyone know if the fact that I bought it at a GC will affect anything? also I guess I'd have to buy a dongle too which would kinda suck

double edit: well it seems that SE3 came out right before i bought it, but GC was trying to clear stock....steinberg says they won't do anything because of that and GC says they'll give me a good price on the new version but that's it......sooooooo pretty much I feel like a moron for being an uninformed buyer, but live and learn I guess. I guess I just always assumed the most up to date software was sold in stores

I would tell GC to bite me and do the upgrade directly with Steinberg.
