I got to it, but barely.

Overall I like it!!

The OH's are good, I'm not sure what to do about the kick...

I think your style of playing is great, and like what you've done for the song, just gotta figure out how to get a good kick recording... (I'd offer suggestions, but I'm clueless on this front...) There is a kick drum thread going...I might read it.

I tried using drumagog on the track, but it didn't quite work. I've got 13 more days to see if drumagog will do anything for me.

There were 2 kick tracks there, which one did you listen too (or did you listen to both)? Because one is the kick "click" (with all the lows taken out and all the highs boosted WAY up) and the other was just the regular recorded kick, and they sound really good when you mix the two together. So if you just listened to the kick "click", then I can see what you're talking about because that one was not meant to be the actual kick track. But with the two tracks combined it sounds really good (at least it does to me anyway ;)).

And as you can tell from all the pops and clicks in the track, I did quite a bit of editing on it (what can I say, I'm a perfectionist :D) even if just the kick was slightly ahead or behind I cut it and slid it over. But you can't hear those pops and stuff in the actual mix (which is why I just left them in there cause that woulda been a LOT of work fading all those pops out :eek:)

I currently have two projects going over there at Collaboration Central, one (Rock and Roll Cliche) is almost finished, and the other one (I Hate the Rain), I want to stick out with tkr here and see if we can get things working.

-BUT-
There are many projects going over there that need drums, I'm sure I'll have a new one soon, too. Cruise on over, register (free), email Hux for some webspace (also free), then jump in!!! There's still a shortage of Drummers over there...

I listened to both, but did not mix them both together. hmmm. I was having trouble with the timing. The OH tracks are spot on. I could be doing something wrong on the kicks, tho. Tonight I'll try to mix down some mp3's to send to ya.

I just posted the full song on my page, so if you want to hear how it sounds all together (and maybe it'll help with that timing problem too) you can go check it out. :)

And I think the problem with the kick was that I had placed two bass drums (one from my old kit) together and I had the mic I think a little to far back to get that beater click (which is why it sounds better with the click mixed in). But anyways, see if you think that it sounds better now, and if not what do you think it needs to improve it?

I'm pretty sure I wasn't sync'ing things right. I d/l'd your "Full song" and it sounds TONS better than what I was hearing...

I really like the backwards cymbal at the end of the first verse. Anyhow, I might let you be mixing engineer on this one, mainly cuz I'm a little "mixed out" on Rock n Roll Cliche. :(

The only thing I heard that I didn't like was the silence at around 3:00, but I'm guessing that was a mistake?

Anyhow, I'll get you the individual trax, and let you have at it for a bit, then I'll redo the vocals (hopefully with some lyrical revisions). :rolleyes:

Yeah, I know what you mean there, I'm doing 3 other projects besides this one and I'm getting a little "mixed out" myself. But I'll take on this one too if you want.....seeing as how your so mixed out after just "ONE" song. ;) :D

Well yes and no.....that was the part that I was talking about where I did that certain drum fill but you didn't do that guitar part and it didn't sound right so I cut it out and was going to paste another part there (I think I posted all that before....and I really didn't explain it any better this time around did I? :D).....but anyways, after I cut it out I started messing around with the cymbal cutting off and then doing another reversed cymbal fade in thing after the silence, but I wasn't sure about it.....and now I know to get rid of it. :D

I look forward to getting those tracks, and are you still planning on having your kids sing at the end? I think that would be pretty cool. :)

Trying to get a hold of you...

I was attempting to mix IHTR, now that Serg posted all his guitar work. But I cannot, for the life of me get your Kick trax to sync with the rest of the tracks. Hell, I don't thing Kick will sync with Kick Click :mad: .

I know they can sync, as I've heard your mix. Can you look into this? I'm guessing that something farted in the MP3 encoding process, as there's a few clicks and pops in there...

I was --really-- trying to throw a mix together for this weekend to give to some old friends at my high school reunion.
