Desperately Seeking Drummer(s)

Calm down!! (Said in my best daddy calming tone, remember I deal with 5 yr old tantrums on a daily basis...

I was just trying to leave things open, and wasn't sure how long you'd be down and out of comission with the PC problems. Currently there is nobody doing drums (just that guy named "Fruity"). Can't say no one will come along, but so far you're it.

Oh goodie, goodie, goodie, goodie........:D

Yeah, I still can edit what I have with my old junky Turtle Beach card, I guess I don't need the best card in the world just to get the timing right. And I don't think my drums will really need that much EQ on them (maybe just a little reverb for effects and stuff). Everything sounds REALLY good, which was a surprise to me seeing as how my toms didn't sound all that good in person. But I'm sure that if I had "real" monitors then I could hear all the little (and major) inperfections, but right now they are sounding pretty darn good through my Aiwa CD-Player speakers. :)

As you could probably tell from those tracks, I'm no pro... Glad you're not completely shut down.

I just saw that there was an "IF" there.....

IF I've found drums for "Rain".....
I'm kinda doing two things at once here (I'm also reading some heath book to get my food workers license so that I can bus tables at a restaraunt.....whooopie  ), so I'm reading that inbetween posts and I just saw the "I've found drums" part and well, you know the rest......:D

Woohoo!!

My soundcard is fixed now, but I really don't think I'm going to have to redu anything though. I've got a lot of it edited and it sounds very good "as is" so I think I'll just finish it up and (figure out how to use that FTP thing) then send it off. :) And what I think I'm going to do is just get it mostly on beat (there's still a little bit of a lag and pull at some parts) and then send off a "scratch track" just so you can hear it and have something to tweek with, then I'll finish it up and send off the "real deal".

I have a blast trying to put down drums to stuff, not really a drummer. If drummers (very loose term in my context) are that short on collaboration central, I'd be more than happy to jam out.

Emeric,
Come on over. No matter what your 'bag' may be. If you think you'd like collaborating, go for it. Bassman came over from here and is adding an amazing bassline to one of my songs. He's also chipping in some 'pad' work for rhythm.

I'm just a hack myself, make some noises on various stringed instruments and try to sing and write songs, but some of the guys over there are quite talented. I've found that having outside influences can really add to a song. We collaborated on writing one song over there (It's still coming along...).

Queue,
My dad is bringing home a good version of WS FTP (I had just downloaded the light demo version) so as soon as he gets home (installs it and tells me how to use it) I think I'm just going to send the drums off "as is" right now, just so you can hear how it's coming along and have something to tweak with.

How are those individual tracks coming?

-tkr

tkr,
Unfortunately making the separate tracks didn't make the short list of things to do before I left for a long weekend. I will get them for you Tuesday at the latest...

Sounds good

And I'll see if I can get my dad to install that FTP thingy too.

I was going to try to put it up on my webpage, but I can't figure out how. I did everything right (or so I thought) and I had another drum thing (as an experiment) up there before but it was skipping and I thought that I had done something wrong so I took it down. But after trying to stream other MP3s I found out that it was just my Aardvark card (cause it did the same thing) but when I switched to my Turtle Beach, it worked fine. So I just went and tried to put that (experimental) drum thing back up and now IT WON'T EVEN UPLOAD IT!!!! AARRRRGGG!!!........Ok I feel better now, everythings cool. :) (<-- see?)

You wouldn't happen to be a webpage guru would you? ;)

-tkr

not quite a guru....

tkr,
I wouldn't call myself a guru, but web stuff is something I've done for a hobby for years, and now am finally doing to some extent during the day job.

What is your specific question/problem?

AAAAARRRRRRRGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just lost my whole post!!

Ok short and sweet version, :)

I wouldn't call myself a guru, but web stuff is something I've done for a hobby for years, and now am finally doing to some extent during the day job.
Well, I guess that'll have to do :D

I had a webpage for a while of a bunch of songs that I had tabbed out, but I accedentally erased the page that had the links to all the songs and I just gave up on it. But I would like to get this one up and running, then maybe get those songs up again too. :)

Ok, this is what I did; I up loaded the experimental drum MP3 song onto my page using the upload file command, and then I click on it and clicked view file (which is what I used before to play it when I skipped) and it gave me a message saying somthing like "The data that the pluging requested, did not download properly" and I tried uploading my song several times (and I know the song will play because I clicked on it in windows explorer and it played fine). So now that I know that the problem with it skipping was just my card I can't get it to play at all now. :(

Then I tried posting it on my page just to see if it would work using Song and I get that Q thing (that you get when it's loading an MP3) then it gives me the icon that you get when a picture doesn't work (frank_1's avatar). So I don't know what's up, maybe you can figure this thing out.

I don't know if I explained this very good (kinda hard describing this stuff) but if you need more clarification, just let me know.

I'll try uploading a different MP3 and get back to you again.

-tkr

(Well so much for the short and sweet version :D)

Nope, same thing......

I just tried (several times) exporting that song to MP3 and uploading it onto the page and still getting that same "The data that the pluging requested, did not download properly" message. So I don't know.......any ideas? (I hope, I hope, I hope :D)

Maybe I should try uploading at Collaberation Central instead of Angelfire.......

Maybe I should try uploading at Collaberation Central instead of Angelfire.......

That was gonna be my suggestion. Maybe Angelfire doesn't like hosting mp3's. (People have been known to share copyrighted material using that format...);)

WS FTP is up

I just got home from working swing shift and my dad had already loaded the WS FTP thing, but unfortunately I wasn't here when he loaded it so have no idea what to do with it.

Do you think it would be better just to go to Collaberation Central or try to try to figure the FPT out?

-tkr

If you've used any FTP proggies before, WS_FTP should be a snap. If you haven't, then I'd read up a little, but usually the hardest part is configuring the thing to point to the right server space.

Did you sign up at Collab Central yet? And ask for webspace there? (2 separate steps, both can be linked to from the side frame, I think the webspace thing might just be an email request)

I haven't used any FTPs but like I said my dad uses WS all the time at work, so it'll be a snap for him.

I signed up at CC but I haven't asked for webspace. But I think I'll try the FTP thing first (because it is loaded now) and if I can't figure it out then I'll try E-mailing CC for webspace (by by Angelfire ;)).
