Brian, check out http://www.customconsoles.com/. I'm looking at their products for ideas, even if I don't order something from them.

Holy SHIT!

I've been in the wrong business all this time!
I can build these things all day long with the right tools.
I used to build custom Kitchens in multimillion dolar homes.
Let's put it this way, I built and installed a kitchen that had $30,000 dollars worth of Baltic Birch plywood in it! These people had a fucking WALK IN FREEZER in their Kitchen!

So, If my work was good enough for them (Can we say $7.5 Million dollar home) It would sure as hell be good enough for Studios!

I'm going to have to seriously look into this.

hey tim, i see you're in fla, i'm only in atlanta..... how much would you charge me to build me a nice desk? i saw the one that AUSROCK built for only $140us..... i'll give you $250-350 to bild be a desk like that...... how bout it? email me at C9Entertainment@hotmail.com

Hey AUSROCK,
Do you think you could draw up a pattern and post it here? I probably have a little less wood working experience than you do, but with proper patterns and supply listings, not to mention what tools you used, I could probably do something like that and I would love it. Maybe even think about asking Dragon to post the pattern on the main page...if you are willing to "opensource" your plan.

I could.......but I cant.:D
The only "plans" for my desk where in my head........a lot of it was worked out during the making, so to draw up accurate plans would require quite a few hours and dismantling ALL my set up.

At the moment I'm flat out trying to keep the wife onside by redecorating a fair chunk of our house.......painting, new light fittings, laying 50sq.mtrs of parquetry.....blah, blah. All so I can then justify spending more money downstairs in the studio.

Sorry........ChrisO

LOL! I am unable to begin construction on the studio until I finish the crown moulding upstairs, then the bookcase etc... :D Ahhh... life.

Cheers
Kevin.

I thought I might post my "desk" for those who are intimidated by a more "upscale" design. It's nothing if not functional...

I Wish!!
I know how to build it, in the sense that I can build a pro desk-but I no longer have the tools. I got out of the cabinet business in the early 90's.

Tim

Here you guys go....here's what I'm using.
It's a completely mobile setup.
