You might want to check out the Digitalfishphones "Fish Fillets", 3 very useful free plugins including the Blockfish compressor which IMO is much better than HS2 XL's stock Cakewalk compressor, (which if I'm not mistaken dates back to Pro Audio 9, and maybe even earlier). Check out Endorphin while you're there, (a nice 2 band compressor).

For reverb, there's the Anwidasoft DX Reverb Lite, a nice little freebie based on their DX Reverb plugin, and again, IMO it's much better than the old stock Cakewalk reverb in HS2.
