Demagnetizing???

Does anybody know where to get a demagnetizer kit for a Tascam 4 track online, from any U.K. shops??? Lemme know..... Thanks!!!

If you have a general electronic supply store over there any demagnitizer will do the trick. There nothing special about Tascam cassette 4 tracks that demand any kind of special equipment. Just be sure you follow the directions on the package for the one you buy and DON'T store it anywhere near your cassettes. As a matter of fact, the top of a closet in another room is a good place for it --- cassettes are magnetic media and are erased permantly by coming into contact with magnetic fields.

maybe a lame question, but.. how do you know if your 4/8track needs to be demagnetized?

Well.....

It's always been said by most everyone here at the forum that one should demag before EVERY recording session. So, I kinda just took it as a given.
