hello, been struggling with delta 1010 using the e magic software that came with it........I can record multiple tracks easily, manipulate tracks to a limited degree............not having used it for a long time ............now when I try to bounce to disc I get asio error.999 then I cant even play any of my other recordings eventually I have restart comp. and start over...........Ive got more than a few hours in it...............I change the settings in delta every which way and then suddenly it works again but as soon as I bounce ......................

Check the M-audio site and make sure you have the most up to date drivers for the Delta Series. If not, download the latest drivers and try that.

Have you mixed it down and put it in a CD Recordable/Readable Format such as MP3?

when I bounce I end up with the file in docs but not recognized by cd creator..............scanning h drive to repair multiple errors .hope this helps..........still need to restart computer to play anything in logic delta

Anything over 44.1/16 will not burn to a CD using Windows tools. You'll have to convert to 44.1/16 and Windows will burn the audio CD through media player. If you are using Reaper, it will burn the CD for you as a part of the mastering process. You' need to read the instructions, but it will allow you to sequence, put in silence, then create the image file and burn the CD.

I used to use this a lot but haven't in several years.............don't know what changed.....have my notes and followed exactly as I used to..........senility strikes again....................waiting for comp to repair h drive........then defrag and try again ....

Assuming we are talking about the 1010lt card I would pull it out, run the latest drivers then reboot with the card fitted.
The drivers will be sat sitting there ("she knows yer know!") and the PC should go>"Found new hardware" and do the bizz.

I have never had a problem burning CDs? I just export as .wav from Samplitude (SE8 or Silver) or Adobe Audition 1.5 and burn with an old version of Nero. NOT! That we burn many CDs these days.

Should have said: I export to the desktop then, once burning is over, cut and paste the .wavs to the NAS drive as a backup.

Dave.

What software are you using, by the way?

I am using the 192 which is much like the 1010 (not as good as the 1010) and I have no issues in Win7. Not sure what OS you have, but in Win7, the latest drivers work just fine for the 192.

thanx for the replies.........not sure why but suddenly it works again..........still have to shut down comp to use anything after bouncing.......don't see anything different in the settings but at least I can put my recordings on cd now.............been mixing eight tracks down to stereo all in the mixer...............need to tackle the arrange section,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,had this thing for years but never had the time before..........oh. using windows me , is it worth the change to an old vista os...... have tons of recordings from an old band and also overdubs of my own all with eight discrete channels, thanx again for listening to my frustrations............is there any thing that would speed up my learning curve?

I would ditch ME (wow, that is pretty old) and before Vista I would go with Win7 (almost anything that can run Vista can run Win7 as it was the precursor to Win7). Win7 has been the most stable Microsoft product since Windows 3.1. There should be little to no learning curve with the OS and you will get much better performance.

I have a Toshiba laptop "satellite" that is windows seven that is not being used at the present, will the sound card fit in it? sorry about the questions, that's why I did this on the newbie section...............thanx

vista is the bridge os to win7 like me is the bridge os to XP. you might want to try it. a lot of older pro cards don't work in win7 but might work in vista 32 bit (its the drivers).
BTW, make sure you're bouncing and using a seperate hard drive from your os hard drive. I wouldn't use windows cd writer. Make sure that drive is fat32. If you can't afford wavelab, use nero.

Most Vista drivers carried over to Win7. I wouldn't worry about compatibility. I would forgo Vista.

found the original box...says will work with xp.........I have an old one, would that be better than me? all goes on pc hard drive then I use cd creator (a separate unit) to make disc............delta 1010 10 in 10 out pci digital recording system withs/pdif cost about 600.00 a dozen years ago.... logic delta recorded tons but the mixing in arrange is the next challenge

If you look you will see the drivers for the 1010 are the same as for the 192 1010 Drivers

You will use the ASIO driver and once that is installed, then the DAW will just use that. So, it will be easier as the mixing will be done from the DAW and most likely down mixed to a wave in two channel/stereo. Which as you stated, becomes a new science/art.
