i was just curious what some of delta 1010 alternatives are? i know there's some by aardvark (any specifics), but what i basically need is to multitrack from my mixer. and is there something a bit cheaper that can do the same thing than the 1010?

I'm probably going to sell mine soon. I've had it for about four years and want to upgrade to something better.

It's worked great for the four years, though. Any reason you DON'T want it? Just the price? They're easy to find on ebay for $250-300.

I also had the same problem, but I just saved my money and purchased the DELTA 1010. I love it. Be recording with it without fail, for a couple of years.

I would think you could find an 8 in/8 out interface cheaper than a 1010 but it won't give you as good sound quality. I wouldn't worry too much about that though, most of the interfaces today are decent quality. I've always found MAudio decent in driver support. ECHO Audio is a good company too for driver support.

You can find some 1010's for a great price used like the OP said.

You won"t find anything with the amount of inputs and Outputs and features of the 1010 for cheaper than the 1010....It is Priced at close to half of what some other Comparable units with simular features cost so you will have a Hard time doing better than a 1010 for cheaper....

Cheers

ok cool, yeah i've been watching them on ebay, and i'm thinking i could find a good deal on one at get it at around the 200-220 range.

I have two. Synched flawlessly. They are the most stable component of my studio. Rock solid. I am worried about new computers lacking PCI slots and making them obsolite. I'm not in a hurry to upgrade that aspect of my signal chain. I bought my second one on Ebay like four years ago. I use them a lot, never had a failure.

I'm in that "if it ain't broke don't fix it" school. I'm liking my set up and for once I really don't have anything on my "need to have" list. The LT's are a great bang for the buck IMHO.

The Delta 1010 is a great unit. It works nicely running in/out of my mackie 1604-vlz pro and ProTools m-powred. I think i'm going to get another one in the near future.

Delta 1010's, I have a few. Paid from $150 to $300 each for them used. Currently I'm running 2 sync'd together on a win XP Athlon XP computer that I built from parts. M-Audio drivers are solid and mature. All soundcards sound different to some extent, the 1010 is still good-sounding for the money. Inexpensive to buy used, run 2 or 3 and mix OTB thru a analog mixer.
