Deleting mystery measures

First of all, I'm using Cakewalk Music Creator 2002. For some reason, one particular song that I recorded has almost 150 extra measures after the song has completely ended. There's no audio data there, but when I export the audio to a wave file to burn to cd, there's almost two minutes of silence on that track. What makes it even more strange is that when I delete the volume envelope that I created for one of the vocal tracks, it knocks it down to only 50 extra measures with no audio data. But that's not an option, because I need the volume envelope to keep the mix I've established.

I've searched through the Help menu and I can't solve this on my own. Please help me if you happen to know a solid solution to this problem. Thanks!

Try putting a node on the volume envelope right at the end of the song (where you want it to end, not where it is actually ending). Then highlight the rest of the track (the unwanted portion) by dragging your mouse in the time ruler (make sure all the tracks are highlighted). Then choose Edit > Delete and make sure the delete hole checkbox is checked.

See if that helps.

BTW, I might suggest making a backup copy of the file first. Just for precautionary measures. (no pun intended).
