I ran across an ad yesterday online. The guy was selling some recording shit and mentioned he had 2 SM58's and wanted $30 for each of them. I nearly shit, then thought they weren't actually 58's so I emailed and he said they were! So, I booked over during my lunch break knowing that other people would be all over this shit. Sure enough, he said he got 15 emails in the 15 mins it took me to get there! He said he was gonna start the bidding war shit but figured I was already well on my way! The mics are in PERFECT shape and they sound even better!!! For 60 fucking bills!!! I had to tell someone!!! later!

"who's sitting on a million fucking dollars dude, and what to they got, my dirty fucking whites"

A guy I know went to an estate sale - It was a crappy day, so there weren't too many people there.

One of the lots was called "box of audio stuff with micrpohones, cables and accessories."

The bidding started at $100 - Of course, he put in the first bid.

It turns out that the owner of the estate at one time ran a community theatre group and ran live theatrical sound.

The box's contents included...

18 SM-58's
12 SM-57's
4(?) SM-81's
Several other mics I can't remember
Several Countryman direct boxes
Several mic cables

The final bid?

$100

And yes, this did happen in the late 90's. So technically, yours is still the deal of the new century.
