Deadening sound for miking

My computer (fan noise) and live mike are in the same room. Can somebody "draw" me a diagram of how to dampen the room noise and create a "booth" for miking up vocals, percussion, and acoustic guitars?

longer cables to enable you to put the computer into another room or closet is a cheaper solution. also you may make an isolation box just for the computer.
