Hey Joeym,

Very nice tempo arrangements in the intro, drums sound real nice en clear.
My only comment would be that the vocals could need more punch, i don't know if this is what you wanted but I think the vocals could need that.
Maybe more compression would fix that, no comments on the voice, it's outstanding.
Nice guitar tones you got there, how did you record you guitars?
Overall very good overal sound, like it!

John

PS: Could you plz consider commenting my song "Sketch Rock" if you don't mind, would appreciate it, tnx!

Thanx John!
A few weeks ago I found some great samples on the net for Battery and my sound quality has improved a lot. With heavy music, the drum sound makes or breaks a tune. Of course nothing beats a real drummer so I have to go for the next best thing.....
I basically use 3 different guitars for the rythm tracks and mic my little VOX AD30 with an SM 57. In the DAW they're routed to a bus and EQ'd. I also put a room reverb on them, but very slight. I'll have a look at the voice again.
Appreciate your comments!

I can't find a thing wrong with this mix. I didn't get a chance to listen to the other mix, but everything sounds good to me. I like the guitar tones. The vocals sit nice on my system. Another winner, Joe.

Thanx Eddie, glad you like it! ;)

That snare is still too busy for my taste. Vocals & guitars sound great. Good tune, still hangs together second time round

Thanx BH!
Guess it's a matter of taste with the snare (or the fact that I've played with some really hectic drummers in my time......:D)

It's a well balanced mix now with everything nicely audible. You're doing good on the wah guitar - something I've never played with but should. You and Greg are adding some spice to the place
Your vocals at the end are just &^%$# incredulous....that's all I have to say

:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Nice tweaking Joey.
I LOVE wah wah! I've only used it properly twice (Wah Wow - funnily enough & another one). I don't have a head for soloing so I rarely do them and when I do it's so STRUCTURED that it needs something like a wah to liven it up.
The vocals on the outro are indeed incredible - I hope you didn't hurt your throat!

Thanks Gerry!
Wah is fun to play (and it disguises my bum notes so well....:D)
Appreciate the compliments. :)

I love it too, Ray, it really livens things up!
Throat is doing OK....I'm quite used to screaming my ass off...even if it scares the neighbours :D
Thanx for the compliments! (CD will take about 10 days to get to you....said the postman) :)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this mix. None of the parts fight each other and the vocals sit really nicely on top of the music without being too much. It doesn't hurt at all that the song is pretty kick-ass too. I'm very impressed.

Thanx man, and welcome to the site. I see our Canadian community keeps growing.....:D

very professional

I heard one effect on your voice in one place what was that?

Sounds very good Joey. Great guitar work. Nice snare sound too. You picked a good sample there. I like the tasteful kick too. Cymbals still seem a little thin to me, but they're much better. My cymbals are like manhole covers though, so it's very possible that I'm just warped. You know, on my third listen now, it may just be that the crash cymbals are a little too loud. The hats are at a good level, but the crashes really jump out. That's really all I got. As always, your vocals are fantastic. Good job! :)

Thanx for your comments Greg!
Bit by bit I'm finding the right samples for my kit. I think snare and kick have improved a lot but I have to work on those cymbals. I could use some of your sounds to sample if you ever make them available.;)
Anyway you're the authority here on drums so I appreciate all your help!

Thanx bud!
Do you mean the start of the second verse? That's real easy to get, it's the telephone voice, you just boost the high mids and cut the lows and the highs to get that plastic sound.

I wouldn't even know how to do that. :o

Pretty easy...just upload a track or a few hits of the different drum parts from one of your songs and I can edit them in Battery. Like for example, one or two snare, kick, cymbal, tom hits etc.
