Intro sounds like early Cure (Striplight) meets Radiohead (the Bends).
Fun the guitar is just a little aggressive beside the vocal.
You should listen to Cpt Matchbox Whoopie Band (Smoke Dreams).
What space around the vocals?
Purist.
If you do have something on the vocals, it's very, very tight -- to the point of being more a close doubler/quick slap, lacking real "space". This isn't a bad thing, because everything else is so very "naked" (good word, seeking).
It's a good effect considering the intimacy, but I wouldn't term it "space".
