yeah, custom shop. that way you don't have to put up with and pay for all the crap you don't want or will NEVER USE and get all the stuff you do and will.
in my experience, it's best not to get your buddy who knows how to build and repair pc's to do this for you. a friend of mine opened a studio here in Denton, sunk thousands of dollars into getting the place fixed up and 4 months in, the super cool custom PC with lights and neat gadjits this guys "friend" had built for him (for just under $2000 (without software) crashed and DIED in the middle of my band's session. we were ALL but done tracking when the thing froze and would not restart or boot up. best to get something you're sinking serious cash for serious reasons from someone that's serious enough to put their company name and reputation behind it and offer refunds in the event of the motherboard overheating or hard drive failing or processor melting or anything else that might happen.
leave this stuff to the pro's.
