Thanks for the suggestions again guys!
I have a question about the MXL V67 mics. Does the MXL V67g use the same capsule as the warmer capsule in the V67i?

Hi. I bought a T.Bone RM700 ribbon mic which sounds nice. I haven't tried it on the gospel singer yet but it is loads smoother than my Rode NT1a and Studio Projects B1. I sold another piece of gear that I no longer use so have around $150 for another mic. I've been reading around here and am still interested in these mics:-

MXL V67g
Sennheiser E840,E935
Rode M3
ADK A51
KEL Audio HM-1 , HM-2

Which would you recommend out of these to my collection?

i havnt used it but the akg d12e is supposed to be very dark

Hi guys. Thanks for all the advice you gave me. I ended up getting a T.Bone RM700 ribbon mic and MXL V67g. The MXL should be here next week :).

Hi guys. Thanks for your input on this last time!
I'm looking for another darker mic without too much air and top end.
I'm considering these:-

KEL HM1 / HM2
Rode M3
T.Bone MB85 Beta (dynamic)
Octava MK 219
Joe Meek JM37
M-Audio Luna

Which of these mics would you recommend as a good compliment to my existing mics:-

Rode NT1a
MXL V67g
Studio Projects B1
T.Bone RM700 (ribbon)

I've been using the Oktava MK-219 on a female with mezzo-alto range and it's very satisfying to me. This mic has a strong dark color with gloss. I got it on Craigslist for $70 and can't complain.

Apex 205. 100 bucks. I use it on electric guitar mainly. Like it on snare too. Cheapo ribbon.

This Oktava in unmodified original version has a strong resonance of the body that is influencing a sound. I have quite bad experience with MK219.

A newer version MK319 was improved by Oktava engineers so even if this resonance is still there it was reduced a lot.
So I would recommend MK319 more.
And do not buy a modified version if you want a darker mic. Modification usually opens a top end and makes this mike more versatile for general using in studio.
