The wife was beddy beddy good to me for my birthday.

UAD-1 the poorman's 1176, LA2A. This thing just puts the vocal right fat up in your frickin face. Love it...

Not quite like the real thing of course but man, pretty darn close.

too bad you missed the free dreamverb give away...by far my favorite non-impulse orientated reverb in s/w land...haven't heard the powercore stuff though

i would be lost w/o 1176's, la2a, pultec, cambridge, and dreamverb...i keep forgetting to try out nigel...i heard greatt hings about that too
 
The UAD-1 does rock. I'm using these plugs in every mix. Sometimes I'll even put the Pultec on the 2-buss just for what it does even when there's no adjustments going on.

Teacher regarding Dreamverb, they give you a free 14 day trial. So, looks like I'm out another $149. The thing is just too awesome to not get.

Bowsic, I have not quite figured out the pultec. It's amazing how this old gear has such simple controls but provides this incredible coloring on the tracks.

I have heard they are coming up with a Fairchild emulation. I will have to have that one too.
 
you will not be disappointed in this thing. i have had mine for about 2 months. i got it for FREE from a contest!!! yeah baby! i find myself itching to buy another one for MORE POWER!!! lol

yeah, kinda a freak thing. i NEVER win anything. i almost didnt sign up. :)
