Hi,
Sorry for my double-posting this, but I'm hoping to get some pointers on where to start when trying to dump audio to a PC from this DTRS?

Specifically;

We have a DA-98 with 2 DA-88's slaved to it, containing about 20 tracks of audio.
I'm hoping to transfer these tracks to a PC-based Cubase VST (3.7) system via a MOTU 2408 MKII

Can the DA-98 provide all the master functions to allow this Cubase PC to record chasing the 98's Midi Time Code?

Do I require any further hardware to accomplish this type of transfer?

The MOTU has TDIF and wordclock features. The PC has a midi enabled soundcard.

Do I require a midi timpiece or is this setup sufficient and what's the general configuration for such a setup?

Appreciate any/all help.

Cheers,
Danny Deane

well, i think....

take the TDIF output from your tascam to the input of your motu. in cubase, make all the tdif inputs enabled, make sure you have mutirecord enabled and set up however simultaneous tracks you need to record at the same time. in the cubase monitors, make sure al the tracks are routed right..hit record, press play on your machine, everything should transfer to your pc.

if you wanna press play, and have your cubase sync to it, you will need to connect the tascams to the pc with midi. go to the sync options in cubase and tell it to receive midi timecode via your midi outs. it should work!

i used a similar setup once for a session inmy studio. very complicated!!
