No audio input signal in Cubase AI5

I am totally new to recording, just done some simple midi tracks in Cubase before and never recorded audio. Now I have started a project with to midi tracks, drums and strings, and now trying to record audio from my keyboard in to Cubase. I think (?) I have set up busses correctly. The output from the keyboard goes actually through a Line 6 pod xt for some added delay effects. Only one output channel from the pod xt goes to the Line in on my MOTU microbook interface (I dont think it is nessesary with routing both to the ins on my interface for this). The microbook is connected to my PC laptop over USB. In the VST connections on the device menu in Cubase I have set up only one mono input, and a stereo output, very simple. I have checked and all channels are activated. I have added an audio track in my project for this, and see on the inspector says mono in 1, stereo out. When I play notes on my keyboard Cubase dont receive any audio signals, no sound. What do I do wrong? Need help with this
In the project setup window, the sample rate says 44.1 HZ, 16-bit, standard for CAI5. Should I change something?

Does the Pod show input from the keyboard?

Are you using both outputs from the keyboard or just the left output? Have you tried patching the keyboard direct into the Microbook and seeing if you get audio signal that way? Is the gain in the Microbook turned up at all?

Yes, the microbook is receiving input signals, the level meters shows up. So the signal must disappear somewhere between the audio interface and Cubase..

Is there a soft mute or fader in the Microbook software? Or possibly a channel routing problem where you need to arm a different channel from the Microbook into Cubase. Do you get levels in the Microbook console software in the computer?

Or maybe just a bad cable from the Microbook into the computer.

It works now after I did switch to mono in 4 in the VST connections. There are 4 input channels on the microbook, so I did set up all 4 now in Cubase. So it was just the wrong mono in in Cubase. Thanks for the help anyway
