hey yo. i just got the korg D16 a few days ago in preparation for a big recording project i will be doing for school in a few weeks. I made a demo song to familiarize myself with the machine, so far i have 2 questions:

1) Once you select an effect type, can you only use effects of that type for the whole song? Or is there some way to bounce tracks with effects in order to be able to use the other effect types? I ask because I really like the mic simulators, but i also want to try the CabRes, guitar and bass multi, and rotary speaker effects.

2) When you bounce all tracks to 1 and 2 before burning, how do you keep the pan settings for your original tracks 1 and 2? when i bounced the tracks, i kept the pan on 1 and 2 as it was before the bounce (they were the drum overheads), but after i bounced, the entire mix seems to have kept those settings and messed up the stereo image that i had.

Thanks

First question: As far as I know, yes you can only use those effects types. Good news though...you can bounce the track(s) you want the effects on to virtual tracks. Once that is done, you can select different effects while retaining the previous effects on the tracks. It's a bit of a hassle, but at least the option is there.

Second Question: That's a good question. You may have to bounce those tracks v-tracks to keep the pan settings. Possibly try and set the pan on those through the Scene editor and keep the actual pan knobs centered....

When I bounce to tracks 1/2 before burning, I usually have something on 1/2 that is panned hard left/hard right anyway, ie stereo guitar track or drum overheads. You want the final 1/2 tracks to be hard left/hard right anyway. Make sense?
