custom amp wattage

ok, so I was thinking of making a simple 2x12 cab and buying a head for my next amp, just for fun, so I was wondering, when they say power handiling on one, does that stay the same the whole time. I mean like if i have 2 12s that handle 100 watts, would that be 200 watts total handling? not sure if thats clear or not.

Yes, two 100 watt speakers will handle 200 watts.

there is also the question of impedence of the speakers and as far as series or parallel wiring to consider as to the actual load you will be drawing from your amp.

oh, and about the ohms, if i have 2 16 ohm speakers, doesnt it work out to be 8 ohms that i should be sending in from the heaD?

It depends how you wire them. It will be 8 or 32
