I am gonna purchase an Echo Layla setup here in the next couple of days (well, I am torn between the more expensive Layla and the more in my pricerange Mia cards...) and I notice that it comes with Cubasis VST.

I am a Cool Edit user, is this program comprable? Better? Worse? Harder to use?

Is the Mia card okay?

Any input would rock.

Thanks!
Jimmy

Alright, the first thing I ever used was nTrack - and I still use it. However, I have Cool Edit and I bought as a "graduation" from nTrack; even though I've been to lazy to fully learn how to use it (which is why I'm still using nTrack) Cool Edit is great.

How does it compare to Cubasis? Well, I've also used Cubasis VST 3.7 and Cubasis InWired, and personally, I don't like it. I find it difficult to use - but that's probably because I'm so used to nTrack and Cool Edit.

From what I've found, the only thing that's easier about Cubasis is using MIDI (but I haven't been able to mess with this on CEP too much).
Another thing that bothers me is the GUI. I find everything to be too jumbled up and confusing.
I think that if you're a Cool Edit user, as you make the transition, you're probably going to be annoyed at first.

However, Cubasis VST 4.0 is out and it might be a whole new ball game. I'm sure there's a demo for it. Try it out and find out for yourself. :)

The cubase that comes with Mia is not a full version.
Don't buy an s-card just for some software that comes with it.
Mia is no good if your planning on using midi,it don't work.
I use it for Recording guitars 'n' stuff ,it's good for that.
