Any thoughts on these two programs? Whats better with what? Ive been demoing Nuendo for a while and seem to like it but i was thinking the Cubase might be a little more stable. Any ideas on this, will all my Directx Plugins still work on Cubase?

did you buy nuendo.... because there isn't a nuendo demo. both programs are very good. but cubase is much stronger for midi. i think nuendo is a little more stable. i use both programs. under nuedno you can process, so i record under cubase and open it under nuendo. you can't open a nuendo file under cubase. it depends on how much money you have....do you use midi a lot?

I think Nuendo is a hot program, my Friend has it. Its better than Cubase to me, you can also dump Nuendo in Protools.

Well i bought the full version but ive just been trying it out. I was thinking about selling Nuendo to get cubase if it was better. No i dont do much midi, and it has been very stable for me. but i noticed that cubase is one of the most prefered sequencer and i was wondering if there was something great about it. I think i will stick with Nuendo though for audio because i havnt really had any problems with it.

eeeh - why ??? why do u use Cubase at all ?, is it your midifiles you're recording in Cubase or what ? I've also got both programs, haven't used Cubase since V 3,72, I have just upgraded it to 5.1 .... just because I could ;) I'm using Nuendo at all times, have been thinking of using Cubase for the midi, but I never got around to do it ... I'll rather stay in one program. Is this "True Tape" thingie ( or what ever it's called ) worth anything ? - should I check it out ?
Nuendo totally Rocks, guess it's the one program to bring Steinberg in the same class as E-Magic .... oh nooooo .. don't flame me for sayin' it :D

Cubase vst5.1 is better than logic 5 :p i never have liked logic though. i just started using nuendo about 3 months ago. i've been using cubase for a while and i have mastered it. i like some features in cubase over nuendo and the same thing goes for nuendo. the only reason i (SOMETIMES) open a cubase song under nuendo is so i can process the effects,de noise, de esse etc...
i like being able to process under nuendo. sone enough i'll stick with nuendo only because i don't use a lot of midi.

i like sequoia too. i was gonna stick with it at one time because the recordings sound better under sequoia. i can't tell any difference with nuendo, cubase, or logic

This is fuckin' weird ... since I upgraded my soundcard ( Pulsar ) to 3.01, no buffer settings in Nuendo works. With a setting of 12 buffers/32KB I can play projects without crackles, but I can't record more than 30sec-1min stereo track without the " buffersize to small " sign popping up. I've tried all settings from 32-128KB - nothing works ... DAM'N !!!
now the really weird thing is, that Cubase 5.1 is workin' without probs - guess I have to record in cubase and master in Nuendo ... NO WAY ... guess I have to downgrade my sound card again to 2.04
if you could see me now you would see a grown man cry ... very heartbreaking

... aaaaaaaand once again I can answer my own stupid questions ( hammering my head to the wall " think - check - then write stupid questions ...think - check - then write stupid questions ... write stupid .... you now the drill ) after all I didn't ask any question did I - I was just getting my frustrations out - anyway : it seems my current project is corrupt. I was running about 10 tracks from Reason to Nuendo, recorded the suckers one by one ( or 2 for the stereo tracks ) and that was when I noticed the problem from the earlier post. Did it in Cubase instead, imported the wav to Nuendo bla bla bla when I tried to close the rewire, that funny little sign " this program has performed an illegal action ... " popped up. Then I started thinking ( a thing I try to avoid ) ;) opened a new project, and tried to record - violá - I can record again
