I got Cubase LE with my Lexicon Omega. I like to mixdown finished projects as mp3. Cubase LE gives you a set number of mp3 mixdowns after which you have to upgrade. However, the link to upgrade does not take me to the right place and I can't find an upgrade path anywhere.

I e-mailed Support but no courtesy of a reply. Support seems to be pretty sparse for Cubase LE.

Any suggestions.

I was going to post the same question.....I couldn't find it anywhere either.....so....bump.

Why are you mixing down to mp3's, anyway? You should always mix down to wav files for burning to cd's. Then, you can use any program (iTunes, etc.) to convert the wav's to mp3's for internet, iPod, etc.

Thanks Scrub

Thanks for that. Is there an advantage to burning the CD from a Wave file? I imported the mp3 files to Itunes and used Itunes to burn the CD.

Thanks for the help.

Saving directly to an MP3 loses TONS of information. (MP3 is a lossy compression scheme.)

You want to mix down to a .wav always 'cause there is no losses.

You can always use a free utility like www.dbpoweramp.com to convert that .wav to an MP3 in a few seconds.

Even though its burning to a CD, its still only MP3 quality, because that was the source you started with. You can downgrade (so to speak), but you can't upgrade. Always go to wave first.

That sucks that you have a limited amount of MP3 exports. I have Cubasis VST 3.0, and I have unlimited, and mine is much older. Interesting.
