might be a dumb question but how do i see the automation work? im tryin to use the compresser and set the threshold. i see the line move up and down on the automation part but the actualy wav dosnt change so i can see how close everything is soundin together. (i know im supose to use my ears) idk if there is even a way to see this in real time or not. i see when i goto show auto. the wav does look different from the original but cant watch it work any way to do that?

The waveform is only a representation of the audio file, previous to inserted effects. Unless you are actually processing the event (not recommended). You shouldn't be using your eyes to 'see' compression. Listening for what it is doing is the only way to know, and the only way to set it up correctly. If you feel you must see the waveform after compression, just solo the track, and export it back into your project. There is a checkbox to do this at the bottom of the Cubase Export screen. But that may not be available in LE4. Either way, just export it as a wav file, then import it back into your project to compare the difference.

Also, I'm not sure there is any reason for you to 'automate' the threshold of a compressor yet. In fact, I have never done it. I'm guessing this is just a terminology misunderstanding. :D
