Hello everyone. First time post. I recently built a new recording computer synced up with a pro tools digi 002. After installing Cubase on the computer, I noticed that any session's audio is cracking and distorting, even if I simply import a single audio track with no plugins. At 128 buffer the sound is absolutely distorted, and at 4xxx buffer, there is slight but still noticeable distortion. Pro tools 8 runs as smooth as silk.
Here is some info on the system.
Windows 7 x64
i7 3.4ghz
16 gigs of ram
multiple 7200rpm hard drives
siig pci express firewire card
the usual other stuff.
My last setup had xp and less powerful hardware, but I never had this issue. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have important sessions sitting waiting for this to be solved.
