Cubase 5.0 prob

Hello, first time poster ......
Sorry to start off with a problem but hey you usually find sites like this due to technical difficulties .
Im running cubase 5.0 , which is new to me as i've had 3.7 for ages, but whenever i go to record anything (when i hit enable track) this crazy delay appears , everything you record has a delay on it, even if your just playing the guitar for instance you can hear a delay once you've pressed enable. I know it isnt my soundcard as everythings hunky dorey there , i think its sonthing to do with the audio set up in cubase , can ayone help me?

I had a similar problem with 5.1.

I'm pretty sure I fixed it under:

Options>Audio Setup>System

Select "ASIO Direct Monitoring"

You may or may not have this option available. However, it's how I fixed my own delay problems.

I agree 100% ON THAT ONE, BUT DID YOU FIX THAT PERMANENTLY OR DO YOU have to do it every time you go to enable??...I have to do mine every time....

I dont have that option of direct monitering available, its in grey. sigh.....
Do you know of any other solutions?

Glad to know I'm doing something right.

Each time I've used it, I've had to re-enable it. You may be able to permanently set it by enabling it and then saving the setting in your def.all song.

That's what I was afraid of.
I don't have such other advice aside from the fact that if you upgrade your soundcard or drivers or some other setting, you may enable that setting.

Ok I fixed the prob, well my mate did anyway....still not quite sure what he did though. Thanks for all your help anyway
