crossfade question

I have edited together 4 pieces of 60 second audio, when I overlap and press X on keyboard for each crossfade it works fine but as soon as I glue all the 4 parts to together (with crossfade sections) only the first crossfade works correctly, the other three (even though they have been correctly crossfaded) don't work and the pieces quickly end and begin into each other missing out on the crossfade, why is this so and how can I fix it?

Have you tried gluing only two pieces together at the same time?

might be a silly question but is your read/write enabled?

You should consolidate instead of glue.
