Tming trick: click track (shhh...dont tell any one, its a secret, lmao)
to "time" everything, you need a reference time...make a file with one digital sound, computer generated, like "beep...beep...beep" then speed or slow down the loop until you get the time you want.
make the drum track FIRST, and make the drummer play to that click track amplified headphones. That will force exact timing on him.
Then, when the next instrument (bass or guitar...) tracks, they play with the drums in their headphones or sound source, and its guaranteed in time.
anyone can play to the same click track when tey do their individual track, or to another track thats spot on played to the click track.
simple, but works like a pro.
theres guitar in the middle, kinda takes over. either too loud, or too much verb, or mic too close to the amp thingy.
with indivual tracks, you can set volume easily.
drums actually didnt sound all that bad...they can be hard to get.
you guys are using that "flat heads" approach, eh? pillows and blankies in the drums? make for a flat cardboard effect. Good for early quick success on drums. if you ever try to lets the heads "ring out"...go the extra mile, and TUNE them, lmao. with a tuner, just like a guitar strigs tuner.
you can tune heads in a song to match the main key...
also, slow decay "riungs out for a long time" cymbals are great live, on stage playing out...for recording, fast decay cymbals sound better.
