My latest: tell me what you think, and be honest. It's just a rough, (I usually don't post roughs,) but I'd like to know what everyone thinks.

On it's way to being a professional sounding recording as usual.. funny song too.. I don't like it, but it's funny..

Great vocal sound!
 
not bad man...............the harmonies are very nice and tight........how many times did you have to track those? anyhow.........it has the sound of a short punk song, but is almost 4:00, i'd suggest maybe trying to get the length down a little, it's a good song but loses some of the power by going on so long (for a song of this type)..........that's all subjective though...........i don't have any real mix tips..........good stuff
 
Cool stuff darth!These guys are getting better at keeping tempo.Are they using a metronome yet?Feable Wiener sounds like barber Shop Quartette with guitars!:DI love their sound man...Im a sucker for bands who can harmonize....it's pop but it sure does taste good for a little while.;)

Man I LOVE this song!!! I wish I would have written it. Mix sounds good overall, especially if it's just a rough.Nice backups and nothing steps on anything else. I like the raw energy. Could be a tad shorter like powderfinger said, but AWESOME lyrics, keep it up! :D
 
i like Creed, but the song is funny.......

i dont see why they would put their energy into something like this.....Creed doesnt suck.....all they do is put out a CD like anyone else....they cant make people buy it...people buy it because they like it.....

i think im reading too much into this......

I'd give that a great review too, can't stand anything cookie cutter, regardless of the 'genre' :mad:
But we are supposed to be talking about recording quality here right? :)
 
oh, yeah :) It sounds good. Darth doesn't need advice about mixing, though. He knows it all :D :D ;) :eek: :D
 
lol.... this was great... :p While I don't "hate" Creed as much as most people aroond here.. :p I still appreciate this one... :D

One thing that would have really put this "parody" over the edge of "Creed bashing" is if the drummer had played that stupid drum beat that the guy in Creed plays for every.... single... one... of... their... songs...!!!...

Holy Lord... does anyone else notice that? I mean really..

it's the same lame-@ss drum beat on every song!!!... :eek: :mad: :rolleyes: :D

very cool again... I like the imagery. "Music's more than just a business." why do so many people forget this? I mean, I'm no fucking dummy about the industry side of things but

I like the "pearl jam ripoff band" line too...

Of course, I also feel obligated to mention that dissing a hugely successful band will cost you as many fans as it recruits. The song's catchy enough that I wouldn't care.

The only things I need to add are these:

That the first "creed" uttered at the end of the a cappella intro NEEDS to be replaced. It's a crucial part of the song and it sounds like you had your twelve year old brother sing it for you. Re-sing it and avoid the wrath of creed fans saying YOU can't sing like Whatever-his-name-is.

And second, where's the REAL guitar solo after "say, c'mon, lets go" around 2:10? Kinda buried plus it's not "fun" enough for the rest of the song. That's just me though.

Anyway, I said it before and I'll say it again. I would skip the theme if this song didn't kick so much ass.

the song sounds great the only problem i have with it is i like creed other than that its perfect.
 
Pretty cool, sounds great. If your gonna diss other bands like a gansta rapper than maybe some kind of hip hop nod in the song would make it a little more of a parody and less of a jealou homage.

And for the record, yes, Creed sucks bloated donkey balls. They have to be the most pretentious rock band since Winger.

i can't hear what/where you are talking about?

the melody at the beginning of this song around :20-:40...amazing stuff...

I think you should make this a "real" song as well as having a parody version.

the hip hop nod is a good idea too...

ummm, so is this your group or you are just recording them? i wasn't sure?

the mix is beautiful...I will have to start listening to your stuff more...

whats your gear setup like for this stuff? particularly drums/bass...? all digital?

Do a search on darth and you'll find a few good tunes...."handjabs" and "moron" are a couple of good tunes by this band(feableweiner) that darth recorded/mixed....they were posted here not too long ago.

for some reason the lead vocal at the beginning sounds..like, too compressed maybe...or something...

like that "cheap" mic sound is happening...

also a lot of times it's like "**CUH**-reed"..plosive.

so how'd you get the gig recording these guys?
