Behringer Ultramizer. Supposedly a "mastering processor". Whatever you do with it, only one thing is for certain: It will sound worse.

The only useful part of it is the exciter, so you can use it as an overpriced exciter if you like.

Wanna buy mine?

Wow. I almost bought one of those.

Instead, I saved my pennies and got a Finalizer Plus used for $800.

Crate....
I cant put into words the shitta-tude of any crate gear I have touched. I pulled out a 1/4 cable from the insert and the solder points broke. Watt the *bleep* !!?

The Rode NT1 I had was one of the "good" ones.
(got one when they first came out)

Even so...
Wouldn't use it on ballads, for example, as it made my voice
sound somehwhat harsh IMHO. Long since sold BTW.
Have heard, however, that like the AKG C3000B it tends to work
better on female vocalists.

Chris

P.S. The Shure SM58's and 57's "become" top class studio
microphones when paired with the right kind of singer/
material/signal chain (pre/compressor/etc.) IMNSHO.
More potential for upside than an NT1.

the EV entertainer powered mixer!!

i was practicing with my band once using one of these. about 30 minutes into practice we smelled something burning. i walked over to my amp, nothing. i then turned toward the mixer only to see smoke rolling from the slots provided for the faders and out from under the knobs. without a second thought, i ran over to it, yanked out the cables, grabbed it, and ran for the door. when i reached the door i hurled the thing into the air out into the sidewalk. needless to say, it is not very useable at the moment.

packard bell.

Sony and TDK cassette tapes. In fact, any cassette tapes other than Maxell.

Any batteries other than Duracell.

Anything that has the "Realistic" logo on the front of the unit.

And this fucking Rolls "director's box" that keeps rearing its ugly head in my studio. I have no idea where it came from or what it does. It has RCA and an XLR connections, and two volume knobs. Whatever its function, it doesn't work. No signal actually passes through the damn thing.

I've thrown it away like six times now and it keeps returning. Sometimes I come home to find my ADAT remote kicked off the mixer and this box in its place. Last night it was in my underwear drawer, and today it was in my lunchbox.

A man after my own hart:D. I gave up on crate over 10 years ago. You buy a little combo amp for shits and grins and next thing you know your whole life is turned upside down:eek:    . Things just aren't the same every since that very cold year:(

No but really they (at least used to) make stuff that could sound pretty killer on the floor at the store, and 6 months later it sounds like CRAP. How do they do that???

Later
