This is one thing I've never understood... plus it takes so friggin long to get your paperwork back. I've sent off a cd with a couple of songs on it then waited and waited and waited still no word back.

Just recently I had a class on this very subject and the teach straight out said it's better to copyright one song at a time. 30 bucks for every song i record but it's gonna take 6 months for the paperwork to get back to you.

I mean isn't there an easier way. Shit why can't I just walk in a courthouse or something stand in a line and say hey I need a copyright on this? I would glady pay for that convenience.
Part of the problem is that ever since the anthrax mailings here in D.C., all mail that is sent to government agenices is first sent to Ohio to be irradiated. Ever seen a CD that's been irradiated? It's toast. I've heard the copyright office has plans to move to an all-online registration which totally sucks for those with dialups or no internet at all.

It's easy enough for me to go down to the copyright office, 'cause I live here. I did that with the Groins demo, and the paperwork came about six weeks later.

Hmmmm, maybe I should start a copyright submission business........
