cool edit pro to fruity loops

Hi all,
LemonTree if you're still around I could use your help again thanks. I've arranged evrything in fruity loops and brought it into CEP to lay down the guitar and vocals. Everything is fine. How now, do I bring it back into FL so I can mix and stuff? Do I have to save the session a special way in CEP. I've saved as a .wav but when I bring it into FL I have to use beat slicer then it only plays portions etc. Basically, I want to know how to save the whole production in CEP then bring in the whole production to FL for further editing. Thanks. I hope you can understand what I'm asking.

Well once you export it out of CEP, it will be just an audio track... so you wont really be able to get "track specific" with your editing...

since your CEP arrangement already has the FL drums/instruments in it, my opinion would be to just leave it in CEP.....

what exactly are you trying to go for editing wise?

if its something with the FL track, just make note of it and go back into FL and change it... then re-export it, and bring it back into CEP replacing the other FL track....

if its something with the stuff you added, just edit it in CEP.....

so i guess what im getting at is: why would you want/need to bring the mix into FL at all??

I guess that's what I was getting at. For whatever reason I thought that bringing it back to FL had more value to it based on the brief interaction i had last night with LemonTree. But I may have misunderstood. So if I'm correct, it'd be easier to just do whatever I need in FL and do all the final mixing etc in CEP. That makes sense. thanks again.

I mean, thats what i do... I make whatever i need to in FL, then bring that into my recording program... its just a lot easier to work with individual tracks... this way, if you want to add a touch of reverb to your vocals ONLY, you will be able to.

then, if im listening to my "rough draft" completed mix, and i notice that the snare hits to loud, i'll go back into FL and turn it down a bit.... then i'll just replace the old FL track with the new one.

this may or may not be the "best" way to do it.... but its all about ease of use... and im takin it you know CEP fairly well-- so just keep it where youre familiar... it'll save a lot of headaches lol. cuz FL really isnt too user friendly (compared to most) on anything past the arrangement phase.

I'm not sure WHY you'd want to get it back into FL to edit and mix. CEP is a far superior editor.

I just use FL to get my drums and stuff done then it's into cool edit to record the rest of the instruments and vocals. Can't say I mix in CEP, I pipe out to an analog mixer for that.
