Do anyone know if it's possible to find the manuall too Cool edit pro 2.0 on the internett? Do you have a link?

Thanks!

Do a search of this BBS..........
I think this question gets asked every other week.

Then go out and buy the program and you will have the book or PDF.

Very first post, asking for a manual to a VERY popular pick among the software thieves -

Yes -- I AM jumping to conclusions.

hmmm Now, I have the feeling you were implying I too was a software theif in my last post regarding AA after seeing how fast you jumped on this guy :D

But seriously, why is CEP 2.0 very popular amongst pirates compared to Cubase, Sonar, PT, Logic etc...?

They're all popular. Well, except for Pro Tools, which is hardware-dependent.

Even though I understand some [SELF-CENSORED] loser came up with a way around that also...

I think there should be a special layer in Hell for software pirates - But there should be a special layer on that special layer for software pirates who are actually ignorant and brazen enough to expect to be spoon-fed answers on how to use their stolen software.

Seriously - Can you imagine a car thief stealing a car and then asking a legitimate car-owner for driving lessons? How about grabbing a gun from someone, pointing it at them and demanding to know how the safety works?

Software pirates are common thieves - Worse to a point, as they really don't think they're thieves because "it's just software."

They can all rot as far as I'm concerned...

That's a first Massive, as far as someone finding a work around for PT that doesn't need the digidesign hardware. I mostly agree with your views on pirating, in the big picture it makes us hard working people (or tax return spenders :D ) pay more.

Excuse me officer, I'm no theif, "it's just a vehicle"

I agree with mentalattica! To go off on this person, that you don't even know, assuming that they are a software thief is beyond arrogant to say the least! That's a great way to welcome new members to the board.

I'll say no more.

Stibanez, did you buy the program?

I just dug out my CEP 2.0 CD that I purchased back in 2002 and it has the PDF manual on the CD.

Wow, such anger and hostility... just so you know, some people "pirate" software because they are unable to afford to buy it. I am not condoning such behavior, but it does happen.

If I buy a program for myself, find it very useful and decide to load it onto my brother's computer so that he can use it as well, do I deserve to go to hell because I didn't pay for another copy? Or am I doing something kind by giving something helpful to my brother?

The whole "software liscense" thing is a scam that was thought up years ago to garuntee that the companies get rich. If you buy a car, do you own the car or do you simply have a right to use it? As such, do you have a right to sell the car you bought? Are you stealing from those who built the car if you sell it?

What about buying software at a garage sale? Is that "pirating" because the software's manufacturer isn't getting paid for it again?

This person asked about the manual. So if anyone wants to give it to him, I feel that they should. I have lost more software discs than I can remember, but the software is still on my machine.

All I'm saying is, if you don't want to give this person the manual that is being asked for, why not just ignore him? Why do so many people on forums feel they have to attack and belittle people they don't even know? Maybe there's a special layer in hell for them?

I aggree with you. I know what its like to be broke and in the past have had to jack software. I would not be where I am with the skills I have if I haven't. Now I pay for all my software and even the software that I already had from back in the day. But I see more then one angle. And I do not condone downloading illegally or stealing but I do however understand not everyone is in a good spot all the time and people still want to learn and create. And like RockyRhoads mentioned... all I see is all this hostility... why not just ignore people when they post this stuff if you don't aggree? Or else send them a nice PM and actually discuss the issue with them if you CARE that much?

So they're entitled to it?

I can't afford to live in a 6,000 square-foot mansion - Am *I* entitled to it? Can I just take someone else's mansion?

There's *SO* much freeware out there - Dozens of programs and thousands of plugs - The software pirates can fall off the planet as far as I'm concerned.

RockyRhoads -

"just so you know, some people "pirate" software because they are unable to afford to buy it."

And just so *you* know, people who are unable to afford to buy something are not thereby automatically entitled to steal it.

Also comparing software to an automobile is completely irrelevant. Yes if you buy a car it's yours and you can do what you please with it. 2 or more people can not drive the same car at the same time, unlike you uploading your software to other peoples computers or selling the software.

If anyone has or does pirate software, like any other crime, keep it to yourself. It makes you look bad, and it pisses people off who have paid their money for the software. Would you talk about how you robbed a bank online to complete strangers? Being broke is not an acceptable excuse to steal, especially something that is not a neccesity.

No doubt. I'm not naive enough to think that software piracy is going to end anytime soon - But when people migrate to public forums "Hey - I'm an as-yet unconvicted felon - Help me learn what I just stole" - It's so beyond ridiculous...

I didn't say anyone was entitled to steal anything. I was merely pointing out a different point of view to look at the subject and also point out that just because someone does something you don't condone, you are not entitled to trash that person.

A lot of the posts sounded angry and "holier than thou", so I posted a differing opinion for the sake of discussion.
