I have a HP Pavillion a110n, that came with Windows XP of course......I use the following equipment (below), but was told I should still upgrade to a better Soundcard.....What is the best one to get under $200, that will work with Cool Edit Pro or Adobe Audition 1.5??....

......Follow this.....

I have both mics (Samson CL-7 & Shure SM58) plugged into their own individual channel on my Behringer Mic2200, then from the MiC2200 they go to a Samson S-Com Compressor, and from the Compressor to the Yamaha MG10/2 mixer, to the Behringer UCA202 interface, to the computer.....

I'm "getting by" using the 1/8" mic input on the computer but want to get the real set up.....I keep hearing some of these PCI cards don't work well with XP, or that some of them don't work well with certain recording programs....I'm figuring if you guys in this forum have CEP2 and AA1.5 like me I'd find out which card you guys used and go from there.....I don't want to have to learn a new recording program.....I LOVE Adobe Audition 1.5!!

I use the 24/96. I used it when I was still using Audition 1.5. Worked fine for me.

I'm not familiar with the UCA202, but if I'm not mistaken that is your interface and should act as a sound card.

I used to have a Terratec EWS88/MT. This card was the older brother to the Phase cards. I would not really recommend that card. I dont know anything about the Edirol, but I would also recommend the M-audio card.

I cannot get Adobe to recognize the UCA202 through the USB port....the computer recognizes it, but when i try to record I get no audio....The only time I get audio is if I take an RCA cord and connect it to the outputs of the UCA202 and run that into the 1/8" mic input for the computer, which pretty much defeats the purpose of me using the UCA202!!...SO I figured maybe I can get a soundcard and use that
