Here's the story... just moved into an apartment with thin walls. Neighbors have already complained once about music being too loud. I'm interested in turning the bathroom into a fairly sound proof isolation booth where I can record guitars, vocals, and percussion. Bathroom seems to be the best place. It's small... maybe five feet by seven feet. I want to be able to set something up quickly when I want to record. It doesn't have to be totally sound proof... just something to absorb some of the sound and make it quiet. I was thinking of buying a bunch of thick rugs to put on the floor... then maybe installing some curtain rods around the perimeter of the ceiling where I could hang moving blankets. Are moving blankets any good for what I want to do? I need to do something about the ceiling... there's a vent that goes up to the apartment above me. Any comments and/or suggestion would greatly be appreciated. Help!
